The 1st Post

St. Thomas, USVI

Being that the Caribbean sea runs through my veins from head to toe, I decided to open up my blog with some good old fashion calypso. Not that steel pan shit that you are use to hearing on the tv and in movies, but where the calypsoian actually sat down and put words together to convey a story or a situation.

For more information on Calypso please check out:

There have been many calypsoians that have come and gone throughout the Caribbean that I am going to focus on a couple of them that have not received their 15 minutes of fame.

Now lets begin....."ITS TROUBLE...I GO FIND DEM...ITS TROUBLE...IN ARIMA...."

Where'd that song come from? All that I've heard of Kitchener is from the Klassic Kitchener compilations (on which a different version of this song appears), but this sounds a lot rawer. Really nice.

Pic is Charlotte Amalie, USVI. Great bar at the top run by a Canadian, or used to be anyway.
